2025 World Water Day: The Voice of Glaciers, The Call of the Future

World Water Day is celebrated every year on March 22 to highlight the critical importance of water for life. The theme for 2025 is “Conservation of Glaciers.” Because the world is rapidly warming, glaciers are melting, and these silent losses threaten not only the poles; they also endanger agriculture, drinking water, energy systems, and the future of millions of people.

Glaciers: Silent Heroes

Glaciers are natural reservoirs that store about 70% of the world’s freshwater. However, with climate change, these giant water towers are shrinking every year. The United Nations World Water Development Report 2025, presented at the high-level summit held on March 20-21 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, highlighted the vital role of mountainous regions and glaciers in water resources. The report warned that “if urgent action is not taken, the disappearance of glaciers will accelerate the global water crisis.”

Water Efficiency Summit in Turkey

Turkey also hosted an important summit within the scope of World Water Day. The “Be a Drop Too!” themed Water Efficiency Summit, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Zero Waste Foundation, aimed to raise awareness about preventing waste and water conservation. This call, which resonates with every segment of society, reiterated that efficient water use has become inevitable in every field, from individuals to municipalities, and from industry to agriculture.

RePG: Shaping the Future with Water-Producing Ideas

RePG responds to the water crisis signaled by the 2025 World Water Day with solutions inspired by technology and nature. Especially with its systems that produce drinking water by processing moisture from the air, it demonstrates that it is possible not only to live without consuming existing resources but also to produce while consuming.

This approach is much more than an engineering achievement: it is the result of a deep belief in sustainability. For RePG, water is not just a natural resource; it is also a gateway to the future. Because we believe that the future will belong not only to water but also to the ideas that produce water.
